Much of Arvo Pärt's music is for small forces and within the technical capabilities of developing musicians. Da Pacem Domine for recorder quartet is another example. Written in his tintinnabuli style, the piece was originally for choir or soloists a cappella. This scoring for recorders can be played in either of two combinations both of which can be found in this publication: High version - descant, treble, tenor and bass (S, A, T, B) Low version - tenor, bass, great bass, sub-bass (T, B, GB, SB).
